Robert Bezek, Robert Durst, and Daniel Seiser
began working together in 1977 on school planning and arctic
design projects. In 1981, they formed Bezek • Durst • Seiser,
an Alaskan-owned professional corporation. Since then,
the firm has grown to a staff of 14, including seven registered
architects, one architectural designer, one contract
architectural designer, two CAD technicians,
and three administrative staff members.
BDS has worked hard to achieve a reputation
for excellence in architecture and facility planning. We
provide architectural, project management, planning, and
programming expertise to private agencies, native corporations,
municipal, state, and federal agencies, universities, and
school districts throughout Southcentral, the Interior,
and North Slope Alaska. We have worked on various facility
types including commercial, industrial, education and academic,
research, housing, homeland security, defense, and healthcare.
In addition to providing planning, programming,
design, and construction administration services, Bezek • Durst • Seiser
provides knowledge of sustainable design options and
methods, and their practical application in Alaska. BDS
has two long-time staff members who are LEED-certified.
We select building systems, finishes, and equipment to
minimize energy consumption and maintenance complexity.
On larger specialized projects we team up with carefully-selected
nationally recognized knowledge leaders in the industry.
This allows us to leverage our knowledge about local construction
practices and the unique climatic, geographic, and environmental
design challenges of Alaska while providing our clients
with the best expertise to meet their programmatic needs.
At Bezek • Durst • Seiser we pursue diversity
and actively seek long term relationships with clients
who have high expectations and the desire to achieve extraordinary
results.
