Ft. Wainwright 284 Barracks

BDS was responsible for this new 144 person barracks comprised of 72-unit “modules.” The dorm style facility features a 3-story configuration encompassing private sleeping rooms, kitchens, showers, and toilet rooms; as well as a central lobby, lounge, mail room, mud room, and recreation space on each floor.
The project included site and landscape design and a new access road. The site features a BBQ pavilion, beach volleyball court, and tennis court. The barracks is supported by a steel structure with pre-cast concrete exterior siding. The central lobby area was designed to accommodate another 72 units to be added later in a mirror configuration.
