BDS and ZGF Architects (Portland) were responsible for the design and construction of this new state-of-the-art $24M Natural Sciences instructional and research facility. BDS took charge of programming, arctic design conditions, and all of the construction administration.
The 107,000 SF facility brought together Geology and Petroleum Geology, Earth Geophysics, Chemistry and Physics. Encompassed within the facility are 61,900 SF of research and academic lab spaces, offices, equipment storage, lecture auditoriums, classrooms and general facilities required for instruction and research.
