Rabbit Creek Elementary is a 49,410 square foot K-6 school in South Anchorage. Originally constructed in the 1960s it has been added onto and renovated a number of times over the years. BDS assisted ASD in developing a Supplemental Ed Spec and a Project Analysis Report that contained a series of progressive design options to help ASD define an appropriate renewal budget and design for the building and site. Complete design and bid documents were then provided for use in a “Best Value” contractor selection process and BDS assisted the District with CA services at Rabbit Creek. Preliminary project work required a thoughtful disruption plan that was developed closely with the school Principal to phase construction while keeping students safe and allowing students to attend Rabbit Creek throughout construction.
